Joseph Ziegler is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the Ted and Karyn Hume Center for National Security and Technology, where he is responsible for developing software and algorithms in support of government programs and providing guidance to graduate research assistants. Before joining the Hume center, Joseph was an Associate at Zeta Associates, Inc., where he implemented digital communications and signal processing and identification algorithms in software using C++ in an XMidas/Linux environment. He also worked at BAE Systems and Practical Imagineering, Inc. doing similar work. He started his engineering career as a co-op student at the General Motors Technical Center, followed by a full-time position at Stanford Telecom where he implemented embedded digital communications and signal processing software using C/C++ and assembly language. Joseph received the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from George Mason University in 2000 and the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1994. He is the author of a Masters Thesis at George Mason University titled “Automatic Recognition and Classification of Forward Error Correcting Codes”.
