The Hume Center for National Security and Technology is a fast-growing center at Virginia Tech, and currently supports over 100 faculty, staff, and graduate students. We are constantly looking for additional talent to support our programs as faculty, researchers, program managers, and administrative professionals. Opportunities exist both at the main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, and at the Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, Virginia. We primarily seek US citizens and permanent residents to support our defense-funded research projects.

Research Associate / Senior Research Associate, Aerospace and Ocean Systems Lab

This is a research and development position based in Blacksburg, Virginia and is part of the Hume Center’s Aerospace and Ocean Systems Lab (AOSL). AOSL brings together researchers from aerospace and ocean systems engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, computer science, AI/ML, and other fields to develop interdisciplinary solutions to cutting-edge technological challenges in platforms, including satellites, UAVs, UUVs, and drone swarms involving hardware, algorithms, sensor networks and phenomenologies, and more.
