About the SMART Program

The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program is excited to announce a new funding opportunity for organizations, technical and professional associations, and academic institutions.

The SMART Program is managed within the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) and is executed through a Cooperative Agreement with Logistics Management Institute (LMI). LMI, as lead performer on the SMART Cooperative Agreement, seeks to develop mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with interested candidates in support of the SMART Program’s diversification initiative. Awards will be offered for a one-year period of performance with an anticipated scope between $50,000-$250,000 per year, depending on the scale of the proposed effort
