Hume Center Student Stephen Franklin Receives Mark Kusiak Memorial Scholarship
In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement in his engineering program and his potential for leadership, Stephen has been selected to receive a $4,000.00 Mark Kusiak Memorial Scholarship for 2019-2020. This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Mark Kusiak, his contributions to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, his affection for Virginia Tech, and recognizing the continuing need for funds to support students at Virginia Tech. Congrats to Stephen!
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant with the Hume Center, Stephen worked on an undergraduate research project aimed at investigating hardening of radio frequency machine learning techniques being developed at the Hume Center against adversarial machine learning attacks. As part of this research project, Stephen resented research posters as well as presenting to the project sponsor successfully. This award is well-deserved, and the Hume Center congratulates Stephen on his success.
