About the Event

Join us for an engaging seminar designed to provide students with an overview of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (DHS I&A) and their current job openings and internship opportunities. Both speakers will provide a brief description of their career path followed by an open Q&A session.

About the Speaker

Madeline Finnerty, Senior Analyst at the DHS I&A 

Madeline graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020 where she majored in Criminal Justice with a focus in Crime Scene Investigations and Psychology. She is currently enrolled at the National Intelligence University working towards her master's degree in Strategic Intelligence in Special Operations.  She has been with the department since the beginning of 2021 where she has worked to become a subject matter expert in Counterintelligence and Foreign Malign Influence. 

Evelyn Hammel, Junior Analyst at the DHS I&A

Evelyn is a class of 2023 Virginia Tech alumna who majored in National Security and was a member of the Hume Center. She conducted research at Virginia Tech and published a meta-analysis of psychological solutions to wide-spread misinformation under Dr. Aaron Brantly.
