About the Event

Unfortunately, the world is a dangerous place: the Russian conflict in Ukraine, the multiple coups and toppling of democracy in parts of Africa, the rise of China and the challenges in INDOPACOM, and the US border crisis.  These are just a few of the many challenges the USG, the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense face in ensuring our national security and the freedoms we enjoy.

CACI is one of the country’s leading National Security companies with 24,000 highly skilled employees providing expertise and technology for customer’s most challenging problems.  CACI is an active partner with Virginia Tech through the National Security Institute and routinely employs a large cadre of VT interns as part of its 300 strong intern program.

Tonight’s panelists will present their views and then take questions from the audience.  Lt Gen Mike Nagata will provide a perspective on the threats to the US and the priorities our DoD, Intel and Federal Civilian agencies face.  Jason Bales will discuss how establishing and maintaining advantage in the Electromagnetic Spectrum domain is essential to national security and provide examples of the technology that CACI develops and deploys.  Glenn Kurowski, a VT NSI Advisory Board member, will add his perspectives on where CACI makes technology investments to address customer challenges and what CACI looks for in terms of interns and hires for non-engineering and engineering positions.

Providing students access to senior leaders in a Fortune 1000 company playing a vital role in National Security is one way that VT NSI and Industry look to provide insight for students on what lays ahead after their academic career is over.  Please join and bring your energy and questions to the Seminar.

Panel Members:

  • Glenn Kurowski – CACI Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
  • Lieutenant General Michael K. Nagata – U.S. Army (Retired) and Current CACI Senior Vice President and Strategic Advisor
  • Jason Bales - CACI Vice President and Chief Engineer of Mission Technology
