About the Event and Speaker
Have you heard the terms “DevOps” and “DevSecOps” and wondered what all the fuss was about? This presentation will provide an overview of DevOps/DevSecOps, discuss how DevSecOps enhances software productivity and quality, and look at how industry in general and the defense electronics industry in particular are responding to customer demands with DevSecOps. We’ll look at "The Three Ways", software pipelines, and challenges to adoption.
Bob Kurtz, Raytheon Technologies
Bob Kurtz is an engineering fellow with Raytheon Technologies’ Intelligence and Space division. Kurtz has a background in embedded systems and airborne intelligence systems, and has been supporting Raytheon programs in adopting Agile and DevSecOps processes since 2013. His areas of DevSecOps expertise include unit testing, test-driven development, and static code analysis. Kurtz has a PhD in software engineering from George Mason University, where his research focused on applying machine learning to improving the effectiveness of unit testing. For fun, Bob trains and competes with his hunting retrievers.
