About the Event

Three Deloitte professionals will present opportunities to students of all experience levels passionate about national security as it pertains to direct mission support of investigations and intelligence, as well as all facets of cybersecurity. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions to a range of speakers, from second year analysts to tenured managers. The goal of this event is to broaden students’ awareness of the vast range of private sector work that supports mission-critical national security efforts and what being an “Analyst” really means.

About the Speakers

Miguel Escudero, Analyst GPS (Government Public Services), Cyber and Strategic Risk

Miguel Escudero is a May 2020 graduate of the Hume Center and Virginia Tech. During his time with the Hume Center, he worked on AI/ML research in collaboration with MITRE and was sent to the RSA Cybersecurity Conference in San Francisco. Both experiences serve him extremely well in the professional world. He now works in the federal space, specifically the Department of Defense, on a wide array of cybersecurity challenges.

Ally Miller, Analyst GPS, Investigations and Intelligence

Ally Miller is a May 2018 graduate of the Hume Center and Virginia Tech, where she majored in international studies with minors in Arabic and psychology. She obtained her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from George Washington University prior to joining Deloitte. She now works within the federal law enforcement realm within Deloitte, assisting clients with operational, mission-focused intelligence and investigative support. 

Justin Palacios, Specialist Leader GPS, Cyber Detect and Respond

Palacios is a prior active-duty Marine with 18 years of experience supporting the Intelligence Community and various DoD organizations. Palacios has extensive knowledge in IT system security, project management, cyber threat intelligence, financial fraud intelligence and intelligence analysis.
