About the Event
Unfortunately, the world remains a dangerous place. The Russian conflict in Ukraine. The multiple coups and toppling of democracy in parts of Africa. The rise of China and the challenges in INDOPACOM. The US border crisis. These are just a few of the many challenges the USG, Intelligence Community and Department of Defense face in ensuring our National Security and the freedoms we enjoy. The use of digital technologies plays a large role – but it brings many challenges. Challenges that the next generation of Talent, you the students of Virginia Tech, will play a big role in addressing. Tonight, retired Lieutenant General Michael Nagata will provide his perspectives – from his previous life in active duty immersed in the challenges to his current role in Industry helping Companies like CACI provide expertise and technology for National Security. Glenn Kurowski, Senior Vice President and CTO of CACI, and active board member of Virginia Tech’s National Security Institute, will host the session. Glenn is responsible for the technology investments CACI makes to address USG capability gaps, for partnering with commercial Industry to bring modern technology to bear against the threat, and for partnering with Universities to attract the next generation of talent.
