About the Event

The strategic management of intelligence missions is required to be integrated across functions, disciplines, and activities to achieve unity of effort and effect, aligning the interdependent disciplines of collection, analysis, and counterintelligence.  Collection activities are responsive to and inform analytic requirements; analytic activities produce intelligence judgments, identify gaps, and provide collection guidance; counterintelligence compliments identifies vulnerabilities in sources, methods, and activities.  Integrated mission management is also applied to the development of planning, budget, and execution oversight.  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) is the leader of the IC and charged by law to integrate the 18 elements of the IC to bring the full might of US intelligence to national security.  In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the various intelligence disciplines, the importance of mission management and integration led by the ODNI, and the challenges in uniting a federation of 18 agencies spread out across the entire Executive Branch.
