About the Event
How do new systems get integrated aboard US Navy ships? What types of studies must be done? And how do engineers coordinate such a complex endeavor? This brief describes the Integrated Topside Design process, a highly disciplined systems engineering approach that is used to holistically optimize the operational performance of ship topside systems through the technical analysis of system parameters, operational requirements, and existing architectures.

Lucas Hale is the Chief Engineer in the Integrated Topside Engineering Branch at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia. He enjoys presentations mainly composed of pictures and lots audience interaction!
